I am not sure in some respects it is not better than the medical murder society we have today.
Much of the illnesses seen in Medieval times had been seen before and have been seen since. Consistent in the recording of medieval illness is the frequency at which many illnesses struck the poor. Numerous instances of ill health follow the same equation of their potentially being treatment or prevention but this not being accessible to those of the least means.
